Peter McEwen, Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer

Mr McEwen has 30 years of active experience in the agricultural industry. He spent 12 years at Wesfarmers CSBP in a variety of management positions before joining Summit Fertilizers. Mr McEwen was Chief Executive Officer of Summit Fertilizers since 1993 up until the date 17 July when he left to join AACL.

He has been Chairman of the board of Summit Rural (WA) since 2005 and is also a Director of the Fertilizer Industry Federation of Australia (Chairman 2003-2007) and Whitfert Pty Ltd. Previous directorships held by Mr McEwen include being a Director and Chairman of the Board of Grain Biotech Australia Pty Ltd and Managing Director of AG Direct Sales Pty Ltd.

His extensive experience, coupled with his formal qualifications of a Bachelor of Science Degree with First Class Honours, Graduate Diploma in Engineering and Company Directors Course Diploma, have enabled him to achieve outstanding results and success in the industry. Mr McEwen was a regular attendee and speaker at the Arab Fertiliser Conference (1999 – 2007).

Chris Brooks, Non Executive Chairman

Mr Brooks has more than 30 years experience in the Australian grains industry including 12 years as the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Australian operations of Glencore Grain Pty Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of the global trading corporation, Glencore International. Mr Brooks serves as a board member of the Australian Grain Exporters Association and the Grain Industry Association of Victoria. He is also the Managing Director of Corporate Cropping Australian who presently manage and own over 185,000 acres of grain cropping across Australia supplying wheat, barley and canola into various premium domestic and regional export markets. Mr Brooks brings to the Board substantial management and industry expertise in the grain industry.

David Mattiske, Non Executive Director

Mr Mattiske has more than 11 years experience in the Australian grains industry and has held senior roles with Australian grain companies prior to becoming Chief Financial Officer at Glencore Grain Pty Ltd in 2007. Mr Mattiske is currently the Managing Director of Glencore Grain Pty Ltd.

Trevor Stoney, Non Executive Director

Mr Stoney has been farming since 1962 in both Victoria and Western Australia and brings to AACL extensive experience from a wide range of farming locations and enterprises. Mr Stoney was initially involved in AACL at its inception, as a contracted farmer and became a Board member given his belief in the opportunities that AACL has to offer agriculture in Australia. 

He is currently a Non Executive Director of the ASX listed company Carbon Conscious Ltd.
